"Beam Me Up, Rexella!"
"WOE TO THE FOOLISH PROPHETS, WHO FOLLOW THEIR OWN SPIRIT AND HAVE SEEN NOTHING"- EZEKIEL 13:3.Dr. Jack Van Impe and his wife, Rexella, host a weekly program called, Jack Van Impe Presents, but believe me, this program is no present. He has opened up one segment by misquoting Ezekiel 1:15-21 by stating, "Yes, UFO's wheels within wheels, fire and smoke, and yes, of course Ezekiel is discussing UFO's. Angels, both holy and fallen are flying around our world in spaceships from a planet called Heaven and they come to our Earth in mechanical ships of high technology". Rexella looks surprised saying, "Wow, Jack!" She should have been saying "hijack" from either Star Wars or Star Trek instead.
But, should all this come as any real surprise to Cardinal Dr. Jack Van Impe fans? This once dynamic walking Bible has turned into just another bird that touts the Roman Catholic agenda, or should we say their financial coffers? And, while his UFO jargon is rather extreme, how about his Bible prediciton of the automobile from Nahum 2:3-4? “The chariots come with flaming torches (headlights) in the day of his preparation…The chariots rage in the streets; They jostle one another in the broad roads (traffic congestion); They seem like torches, They run like lightening (high speed cars)”. Where does he get all this stuff?
Earlier in our ministry, we wrote to Van Impe about his claim that Tarshish was Great Britian and the young lions Australia, Canada, and the United States (Ezekiel 38:13) when most Bible commentaries and lexicons point to Tarshish being somewhere in Southern Spain. Another “great teacher” by the name of Herbert W. Armstrong of the World Wide Church of God believed much the same thing. Van Impe never responded to our letter asking him for his references of his great find. We invited two brothers in Christ to also write him asking for verification of his statements, and they never heard from him either. So, we posted this false information in our newsletter back in 1993 with a spiritual rebuke.
Now, he flaunts himself all over the Roman Catholic Church saying they have great doctrines equal to that of the Bible. Going back to his UFO broadcast, he said, “Jesus is coming back soon in a great mothership (Not Fathership?) and just outside the range of our radar, He’s going to beam us all up and in the twinkling of an eye we’ll be all gone from here”. We believe that Vam Impe is already a little “gone” from here!
