Heavens Realities or Todd Bentley’s Delusions?

I think it’s important whenever someone like Todd Bentley comes along claiming “visions” and conducting “healing revivals” that we examine what they teach. Today we will begin to examine his published works to determine if what he is teaching lines up with God’s Written Word….and today we will begin with Part 1 of “Heavens Realities”…….

It appears that this teaching is copywrited material, so here’s what I need you to do. Copy this article and compare it with my commentary. http://www.freshfire.ca/index.php?Act=read&status=teaching&Id=236&bid=

Bentley begins by claiming there is a heaven….and that angels exist….and I have to say I agree completely with both of his statements. He next insists there is an “angelic realm in heaven devoted to finances”. He further claims “His angels are on assignment to watch over your finances, to gather money, to gather investments, to bring favor, and to bring power in your life so that you can have favor and wealth”. Bentley further claims to have seen these “angels of finance” at least three times while being “visited by the Lord”.

There are several instances where angels have appeared to warn (Genesis 19:5) to minister (Matthew 4:11) to reap (Matthew 13:39) to gather (Matthew 13:41) and as messengers (Hebrews 2:2) but not to watch over our finances.

As hard as I try, I can’t find anywhere in God’s Written Word where there is such a thing as an “angel of finance”. The closest thing I could find regarding an angel outside of the bible was on a psychic’s website. She named this angel Arcadel.

According to Bentley, he made a Jacob’s ladder (Genesis 28:12) type entrance to heaven and discovered the “treasury room” where he actually describes the finance angel as “having a body like a man with six wings” carrying under his wings “every precious gem you could think of”.

Treasury room? Ok. I’ll give Bentley a bit of wiggle room here with the gems. After all, heaven is paved with streets of gold so maybe every precious gem you can think of is in heaven. What I can’t find mentioned is reference to a “treasury room” located in heaven….even though he claims further down in his teaching article that all of this unbiblical mumbo jumbo is a “reality of heaven”.

What’s the first thing Bentley did when he entered the “treasury room”? He allegedly stuffed his pockets with gold coins…and God told him he was “getting the offering”. All this allegedly happened while Bentley was conducting a “meeting” while in a trance. I hope and pray he doesn’t go into one of these “trances” while he’s driving a car!!

Reading further into Bentley’s teaching, it becomes pretty clear he is trying to raise money for his ministry. Look at the way he transitions from his “visions” into the whole “sow a seed” drivel the WoF Movement uses to raise money. I guess birds of a feather really do flock together…or at least use each others material for material gain!

Bentley claims this seed sowing nonsense is unique…wanting some “anointing” and running up to the altar and plinking down some cash and claiming “I want that!” Ever heard of a “blessing line” Todd? The WoF Movement has been doing stuff like this before your unbiblical “movement” ever was spewed from Satan’s mouth.

While I didn’t find an “angel of finance” or “treasury room” in my bible, I did stumble across the story of Simon the Sorcerer;

Acts 8:9-25 (ESV)

9 But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great.
10 They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.”
11 And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic.
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.
14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,
15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit,
16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
19 saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
21 You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
22 Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.”
24 And Simon answered, “Pray for me to the Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”
25 Now when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

The rest of part 1 natters on about getting money and folks receiving “gold teeth”….which seem to be occurring in Lakeland. Again, there isn’t any biblical evidence to support this teaching or these claims. I think there is enough here to demonstrate “Heavens Realities” lacks Biblical reality….and a more suitable title for Bentley’s article would be “Bentley’s Delusions”.

There are similar teachings and visions on Bentley’s site that you can examine for yourself. I’ve seen enough unbiblical excretement in what I’ve read and commented on here to make a wise choice and leave Bentley and his associates alone. Todd Bentley is either completely deceived by the devil…..or he is lying about these “visions”. I don’t know which it is but I do know one thing; DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN OR HIS MINISTRY WITH YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE!

  2. VISITING ANGELS THROUGH THE MYSTICAL PORTALS
Bob Jones, Todd Bentley’s mentor says that he goes to heaven EVERY DAY through a mystical portal (occult supernatural entrance way to a castle in the sky! NOW ISN’T HE SPECIAL! These portals/paranormal doorways are also shown in Harry Potter and C. S. Lewis’, books the Chronicles of Narnia. Harry, at the railroad station, races through the wall, a spiritual portal. Meanwhile, Lucy and her friends go through a magical portal, the door of wardrobe. They all enter into the mystical fantasy world through the occultist portal. Bob Jones and Todd Bentley goes through a paranormal portal of fire to the third heaven. Believe me, these mystical experiences are truly very powerful witchcraft practices that are guided by Angels of Light employed by Satan!

Why is Bob going to the Kidney doctor when he says at the drop of a hat, he goes to heaven every day? He is Todd Bentley’s spiritual mentor. Where is Bentley and EMMA~O? If he is going to heaven every day, he must not have the attention of Jesus, the true Healer!

  3. You are absolutely right about Todd Bentley. His doctrine does not line up with the word of God. “Anyone who does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God.” 2 John 1:9
Todd is a deceiver and is leading gullible Christians away from Christ. Please google “Kundalini” and you will see many manifestations of this cultic power (including visions and trances, healing, shaking, and drunkenness) are happening in Todd’s meetings (as can be verified easily on YouTube.) God bless you for exposing errors and caring for the sheep.

  4. Two words come to mind about Todd Bently:

    1. FLIM-FLAM MAN

    2. SHOWMAN

I honestly don’t know if he actuallly believes the outrageous things he writes and says; or if he is just your typical con-artist. Maybe that doesn’t matter. I just feel terribly sad for the people he is conning.
