An United Methodist Minister on Homosexuality- Part Three

“A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his WIFE, and they shall become one flesh”- Genesis 2:24.

And, what God has ordained mankind has torn ascunder as it was never intended to be Adam and Steve but rather Adam and EVE.

Homosexuals love to take 2 Samuel 1:26 as their justification for homosexuality when the verse justifies only agape love, not erotic love. “You have been very pleasant to me, Your love was wonderful, surpassing the love of woman”. This was David speaking of Jonathan and spoke of the highest form of love imaginable. How homosexuals can twist this verse is not hard to fathom because they twist many verses in order to justify their perversion.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God”- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Some Bible’s have used the word homosexual for effeminate and sodomites for abusers of themselves with mankind.

The word effeminate in Greek carries with it many meanings. One is soft to the touch, while another is a boy kept for sexual relationships with a man or even a male who submits his body to lewdness. A fourth possiblility are male prostitutes. The effeminate partner is the one that receives the act of sexual activity. An abuser of themselves with mankind example would be one who lies with a male as with a female or a sodomite as Kyle pointed out in his brief post. Whatever the actual meaning might be, and one can not assume one over another, is the plain fact that these people will not be inheriting the kingdom of God LEST THEY REPENT (1 Corinthians 6:11).

The passage in 1 Timothy is also interesting and one in which our woman Methodist pastor did not to justice to in the least. “Knowing this, that the law was not made for a rightous person but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing that IS CONTRARY TO SOUND DOCTRINE”- 1 Timothy 1:9-10. All these things, including homosexuality (sodomites) are contrary to sound doctrine. Yes, there are other things included in that list, but let us not forget that homosexuality is also within that list.

Romans 1 does speak to idolatry but it also refers directly to homosexuals and lesbians. Those that do such things do not like to retain God in their knowledge (Romans 1:28) and in so doing they have become haters of God (Romans 1:30). It is a well known fact that homosexuals and lesbians go through many lovers in their lifetimes. God never intended for homosexuals and lesbians to marry or He would have given us specific Scripture on that point. Instead BOTH Testaments condemn the act.

The ultimate proof, which again our woman pastor failed to address, comes in Revelation 22:15. “But outside (heaven) are dogs (sodomites) and sorceers and sexually immoral, and murderers and idolaters and whoever loves and PRACTICES a lie”. Homosexuals and lesbians, no matter how they try to jusitfiy their sin, are lovers and practicers of lies. Let us pray for them all that they may abandon their lies and embrace the love of God.
